Can True-Light lamps also be used in ordinary armatures?
Yes, our 26 mm and 16 mm fluorescent tubes fit into the regular armatures. We recommend high frequency armatures, it saves up to 30% energy. More information can be found in the menu under "information > high frequency armatures".
Can you compare True-Light lamps with other daylight lamps?
No, only the full-spectrum daylight lamps of True-Light give the corresponding positive effects, more information can be found in the menu under "information > what is True-Light > why True-Light
Can I also order True-Light lamps without a fixture or a fixture without True-Light?
Yes, the True-Light lamps and high frequency fixtures can be ordered separately in our online shop.
What about winterdepression and True-Light?
It is proven that your winterdepression can be combated with True-Light full-spectrum daylight lamps. Per person it differences how much and how long the True-Light is needed. We can give you a personal advice if your e-mail or call us.
What are lux and lumens?
Lumen is the Si unit of luminance, or amount of light (luminous flux) abbreviated as Lm. Lux is the unit of illuminance, the amount of light at the surface. The number of lumens per square meter = lux. 1 lx = 1 lm/m2 . Examples for lux value:Light source:
- Daylight at full sun Mid Summer Day
- Daylight when clouded
- Daylight average
- twilight
- office light
- reading ligth (work surface)
- normal lited room in the evening
- limit to read a newspaper
- limit to see colors for a human
- limit to see in the dark for a human

Note: the lumen output of True-Light lamps are measured at 1 metre away from the tube in a totally dark space.
Is UV radiation dangerous?
There are indeed misunderstandings. There are 3 types of UV light: UV-A, UV-B and UV-c. Only UV-C is harmful. Virtually all UV-C is filtered out in the ozone layer. On hot summer days prolonged exposure to the sun is dangerous because of the thin ozone layer (light intensity to 100,000 lux). True-Light doesn't knows this problem. Our lamps have an average, constant light intensity. UV-A and UV-B are not harmful as long as they are in biological quantities. They are then even extremely beneficial for all kinds of processes that take place in the organism of humans, animals and plants.
Why is the exact colour of daylight so important?
The colour spectrum of normal fluorescent light contains no red, indigo, violet and UV. Red is good for blood flow, the production of red blood corpuscles, breathing and oxygen supply, metabolism and fertility. Violet ensures balance between calcium and phosphorus and promotes the circulation of the lymphatic system, the activity of the glands, creating white blood corpuscles and the production of iodine and iron. UV light stimulates the body to produce vitamin D and calcium.
What kind of effect has daylight through a window?
Window glass, as well as most eyeglasses and lenses, stops Utra Violet Light. Most of the UV light enters our body through the eyes. What is the difference with an "ordinary" tube?
Artificial light by "ordinary" fluorescent tubes produce their light primarily using only three or four colour wavelengths, and have no effect on our well-being, unlike True-Light . The special True-Light sodium glass passes the UV radiation and stimulates the body in producing vitamines and hormones.
What about True-Light and vitamin D?
Natural light ensures the production of the necessary vitamin D in the skin. When the skin gets ultraviolet light, it will produce vitamin D4. This enters the blood , the liver and kidneys, where it is converted into its active form vitamin D3 (cholecaciferol), the "sun vitamin", using hormones for a balanced calcium and phosphorus balance. True-Light produces ultraviolet light.
